Paul's Appreciation Letter
John Paul
A word of appreciation to Sifu: I feel like I am a better man for having known you. It is a privilege for me to study under you and learn your kung fu. Actually its much more than just kung fu. Culture, family, and more importantly how to be a father. I pick up a lot of things from you not just the twelve techniques. I am discovering that I have been learning for the past 26 years how to appreciate things. Your Kung fu is one of them . I have something that my junior kung fu brothers don’t have yet. As if it were not just good enough to study with the best kung fu master on the planet. But I can say that from my past experience with other Wing chun and Tai kwon do I know what your knowledge and experiences are worth. Every technique is like gold to me. I tried for 15 years to play football but everyone just ignored me. Now I feel like all that helped me to mature into what I am today. I was given the opportunity to want something so bad that I was obsessed with having her....I mean. I go to bed thinking about football, wake up thinking football… Day dream about football. Now that energy is translated to your wing chun KF. Its that self discovery that gives me so much confidence and growth. The last twenty years have made me stronger. I appreciate everything......that is such a powerful statement. Everything I have, has not come easy to me and now I place a value on it. My kung fu brothers have not realized that. Its kind of sad. Thank you again for letting me study with you in your advance class. I feel like I am learning the best kung fu in the world and I didn’t have to travel thousands of miles to look for it. I know how privileged we are. There are people in this generation and previous generations who have spend their whole lives trying to learn and figure out the stuff you taught us. Above all I think the hardest thing in the world to learn is...appreciation.
